As a kiddo I wasn’t a fan of blueberries. I sure have changed my tune since then. Maybe it’s knowing that this berry powerhouse has Vitamin C, manganese, and antioxidants doing my body good. More likely, it’s that burst of flavor that’s unique unto itself. If I want to reward myself after a strenuous morning workout, I make a Blueberry and Hemp Heart Smoothie.
Blueberry and Hemp Heart Smoothie
- 6 oz. blueberries
- 1 tablespoon hemp hearts
- ½ of a 5.3 oz. container of plain Greek yogurt
- Scoop whey protein powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 6-8 icecubes
- Water to Fill
- Blend the above ingredients in your NutriBullet or other high speed blender.
Blend the above ingredients in your NutriBullet or other high speed blender. I won’t tell if a couple of those blueberries go straight in to your mouth instead of in to the smoothie. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
