As much as it pains me to use a beer in this Cheddar Beer Bread instead of drinking it, it’s worth the sacrifice. For this bread I used an Oktoberfest beer from Real Ale Brewing Company – a craft brewer out of Blanco, Texas. It’s a medium bodied Fall beer that is great for this hearty Cheddar Beer Bread because the beer flavor in the end product is not overpowering. However, if you want the beer flavor to pack a punch I suggest a stout or porter. A dark beer will also give the bread a richer, darker color.

If you’re just starting out making breads, this is a great one to cut your teeth with – it comes together in a flash! It’s sure to become a staple in your repertoire because it’s simply delicious. The beer and cheddar flavors are so yum! Super savory bread can be achieved with a dark, powerful beer and sharp cheddar. For a more subtle bread, a lighter beer and mild cheddar can be used. This Cheddar Beer Bread can be customized to your tastes.
